Susan Gloss loves writing in all of its forms, from fiction to legal briefs. As an adolescent and admitted nerd, she spent hours in her room creating characters and constructing sentences. Lacking the prowess required for sports and torrid romances, Susan spent her awkward years as features editor of her high school newspaper, then went on to devour a double helping of literature through her college majors in English and Spanish.
After graduating summa cum laude from the University of Notre Dame in 2001, Susan moved to Madison, Wisconsin to attend law school. During her law studies, she contributed an essay to Delaying the Real World: A Twentysomething's Guide to Seeking Adventure, by Colleen Kinder (Running Press, 2005), a collection of non-traditional advice for college graduates. After earning her degree, Susan spent two years in Chicago, where she worked at a large law firm, participated in the Writers' Loft workshop, and rented a "deluxe apartment in the sky." Susan returned to Madison in 2006, where she does full-time legal work and lives with her husband, young son, and neurotic dog. In her spare time (or what there is of it) she writes fiction, scours vintage clothing stores, and seeks inspiration for her blog, Glossing Over It. She is a member of the Madison Writers' Network, recently spoke at Writers' Institute at the University of Wisconsin, and completed a food writing workshop at the Iowa Summer Writing Festival.
She is seeking representation for her novel, Gently Used, which recently won the 9th "Dear Lucky Agent" contest on the Writer's Digest Guide to Literary Agents Blog.
